Never will forget this man. Never made it to a g2g but managed to meet him and some other members of our Family.

The first time I met CJ in San Antonio:

1st time I met CJ, he and Georg were on the way to the dragon. We got to spend a few days together.

I got to know CJ well over the past few years. He was a very passionate person in all things. It was hard to watch him decline, but he fought like no other I have ever know. I'll always be a better person just for knowing him and having him accept me as a friend. I truly don't believe CJ had any enemies. Everyone that met him became his friend.

I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that my life is forever better as a result of having CJ in it. Because of him, I not only gained a great friend and plenty of knowledge about my HHR, but I also gained many friends through his vision of a forum.

I cried plenty today, but all I have to do to get myself to smile and laugh is to think back to the walkie-talkie banter between CJ and Deb during the Kicks on Route 66 caravan.

Very nice tribute Ike. Thanks for putting the dragon pictures up.

Glad we got to meet CJ and spend a few days with him at the Dragon last year. He was truly amazing thru his struggle the past couple years.

CJ was a special person. Despite many problems in recent years, he has always been an optimist. His illness, his pain - he has everything to endure without complaint. I do not know anyone who has dealt with his illness as he always did. He always was optimistic looking forward. I met him for the first time at the Niagara Falls Get Together and a second time when I visited him in Dallas. We drove to Savannah, where we met Ike and Carla before the going to the Dragon. CJ was a family man and his family stood for him in the first place. Unfortunately and as much as he wished to return to his roots he did not manage to visit us here in Germany. It is an honor to have been his friend.

Rest in Peace CJ. I am proud to know you not known never known but know. I know you will be scoping out roads in heaven for us to run as each of us join you there. I have only known you for 7 short years but you always made me feel like we had been friends forever. I will miss your physical presence but know that you are always with us. You, yes you CJ brought a group of people together that have become friends and that is a great thing. For your legacy will continue through this forum and when we each get together and remember what you have done for many of us. You unselfish giving of your knowlage and periodic wise crack your chuckle and smile will always be in my heart. Drive on CJ drive on we will catch up later God bless you and your family.

I wish I could somehow put this graphic on the side of Punk, as I'll never be able to look at it without thinking of CJ (and hearing his chuckle to go along with it)

OK, for those that wish it, I put together most of the pics I have in a larger collage that is desktop sized.
I actually used the Wall of Fame template to create it.

Today I was asked about doing a combined signature scroll bar for Dave & CJ. This is what I came up with.
To save it just right click on it and save it to your computer.

Very Cool Ike- Thank You Sir.

My first encounter with CJ started over reading a post dated way back in about 2006 (at the other place), "The Gutter Guard Grille" after reading that, I sent him a PM, & we started off on that simple mod.

Which BTW my Panel is still sporting. 2thumbs

Re: RIP CJ

Post by Overboard on Fri Nov 20, 2015 12:33 pm

I don't get here very often these days; my daughter drives the HHR and lives with her mom so I don't see either my kid or my car very often. And I've been very busy juggling job, church and the upbringing of my son. That said, I did try to stop in every month/two-months or so (and of course whenever I've had an issue with or otherwise need info related to the car).

So it wasn't until now that I heard about CJ; I knew like everyone else that he was ill but like I'm sure every one of you, I was hoping he'd be with us longer.

The news elicited tears; I never met the man but he was always good to me on the forum and I felt like I had a friend.

His memory will be on my mind for quite some time. I'm elated that there are others here to carry on his legacy.

Hugs to all...
